Getting Organized with a Bowl Full of Lemons

Are you looking for a way to get organized??

One of my favorite bloggers is hosting a "Get Organized" party the month of January.

Starting on January 1st, she will give you a daily organizing task to complete....

By the end of the month you will be organized!!

How exciting!!!!

If you are like me, you get overwhelmed trying to get organized, but if you have someone telling you what to do, it's much easier!

So hop on over to

and check out her posts starting on the 1st!!!!!

Deployment Project # 47...Refinished End Table

Merry Christmas Everyone!

I finally finished up my latest deployment project....

one of my end tables...

Here is my table before I gave it a makeover....

Photobucket

There was nothing wrong with it. It was actually pretty just the way it was. But, with a dark chair and a dark couch surrounding it, I felt it made the area dark looking.

Photobucket

Once again, I used my Zinsser cover stain before applying the actual paint....

Photobucket

Here is the table with the cover stain....

Photobucket

I decided to paint this "December White" from Valspar (at Lowe's)....

Here is my finished table....lighter and fresher...

Photobucket

I think it really brightens up the little space!

Photobucket

I only needed a sample size of the paint, so I paid a whole $3 for this makeover!!

Where has Your Elf on the Shelf been lately????

Do you have one of these???
Photobucket

If you don't have an Elf on the Shelf, you HAVE to get one.  This sweet little elf comes to our house the day after Thanksgiving, and stays until Christmas Eve. Every night, when the children are sleeping,  he returns to the North Pole to report back to Santa whether or not my kids have been behaving.

Every morning he shows up in a new spot in the house. My kids LOVE trying to find him each and every morning....and I enjoy seeing how many creative ways the elf displays himself.

Sometimes we find him hanging out in one of the girls' rooms....
Photobucket

Other times we find him in other places....and as you can see, he can get into a little mischief...

Photobucket

Sometime he tries to act like a monkey...

Photobucket

....and sometimes he like to make sure the kids get up on time....

Photobucket

He loves to play with the Barbies in the house...sometimes getting in a game of Candyland...

Photobucket

Other times he has a little too much fun....having snowball fights with the dolls. My kitchen was covered in marsh mellows!!!! (but my kids LOVED it!)

Photobucket

Look at the American Girls doll with snow balls in her hand....

Photobucket

Silly little Elf...

Photobucket

Sometimes he just hangs out up high, trying to get a good look at all that goes on...

Photobucket

He likes to put on the Ken Barbie's clothes too..

Photobucket

What elf doesn't like to make snow angels????

Photobucket

So, where has your elf been lately???? Our elf seems to be running out of creative places and ways to show up.....so if you have any fun ideas, please email me HERE..

I'd love to hear from you!!!!

Happy Elfing!!!

Photobucket

I love this hounds tooth print!

What are you giving your neighbors for Christmas???
