The girls and I brought down our Christmas decorations from the attic last week.....
We got our tree put up and decorated.
Of course, my AUBURN TIGERS ornament sits at the top of the tree....
You know, since we ARE ranked NUMBER ONE right now...
Just sayin'
:-)
I'm almost embarrassed to show you my Christmas decorations. I do like to decorate for Christmas, but because I have VERY little storage space in my attic I have to limit what decorations I put out.
But, here is some of my Christmas decor....
....and remember last week when I showed you my front door????
It wasn't ugly...I was just itching to have a red door.
And what better time to paint your door red, than at Christmas time?!?
First I primed it with GRAY primer...this is important when painting over black. Just buy a small can of primer at Lowe's and have them tint it.

I had brass hardware, but took it out of the door because I wanted a satin nickel finish...
Instead of spending the money on a new set of hardware, I use this spray paint made for metals....
But as you can see, not all things go according to plan...
I just peeled this off and started over again...it didn't turn out perfect, but it works for me....
If you paint your hardware, just make sure you give it plenty of time to dry. I think that was my mistake...
So, here is my RED FRONT DOOR, with it's Christmas decor....
Take another look at the BEFORE door....
And the AFTER......
I am LOVING my red front door!!!
What do you think??

I LOVE everythinga about your Christmas decor, and your front door is amazing!
Your red door just made me smile! I love it and all your Christmas things!
I LOVE the red door! It looks so great with the house.
Love how the front door turned out. As far as Christmas decorations do not feel embarssed b/c less is best. Remember that b/c some people out there can go overboard and then it becomes just tacky.
What color red did you use? It's beautiful!
Beautiful!!! Were you able to reuse the house number decal?
Looks stunning!
Specially in the dark
I`m sure Santa will find your home;)
Lovely greetings...
Nice job! Love the door. I spray painted my door hardware this summer and so far so good.
Beautiful! I love red doors!
I LOVE your house numbers on the door! Do you purchase these somewhere or use stencils?
I am also a military wife and have endured deployments - only wish I'd spent that time being as crafty as you....maybe next time.
