A Lil' of This, A Lil' of That...

Hello Blog Readers....
Just a little bit of everything today....some monogramming, some pictures, some prayer requests....

I've been doing some monogramming lately...I just LOVE creating different things for my girls to wear...however, girls is not really plural anymore....Faith refuses to wear almost anything monogrammed or custom made. Thank goodness I have Brooke, who rarely voices her opinions about what I put on her.....In time, I am sure she will turn into the fashion critic, just like her big sister. Sooo, I am enjoying making things to put her in....not sure what I will do for a hobby when BOTH girls refuse to wear custom clothing....

Here are a few recent designs.....

This is actually a baby gift I made for some friends of ours who just had a baby....Jordin, if you see this, here is your gift that's in the mail on it's way to you! HA!

.......and then on another subject......

Brooke had her second gymnastics class on Monday....I took my camera to the first class, but she wouldn't let go of my leg the entire time...so, I didn't think taking pictures of her with all of her limbs wrapped around my leg would be a good picture (or would it?) so I had to take a picture of her...on the 2nd lesson....at home....before she decided to cling to my leg again.
But this time was much better....she only wrapped around me for the first 10 minutes...and then she let go and had a BLAST!!! Next week I will be sure to get some action shots....
Lastly, I have 2 families weighing on my mind that I would like to ask you to pray for....
The first family is The Sullivan Family . I do not know this family personally, nor are they a friend of a friend....this is actually a family I came across while reading another blog, and they have been weighing heavy on my mind this week. This couple was married 5 years and was just blessed with a new baby girl...however, the mother was diagnosed with breast cancer during her pregnancy, and passed away just 2 days after they brought their baby girl home. Their story has just hit me hard this last week....so please pray for this new father and baby daughter who will never know her mother.

The other family I want you to pray for is The Lee Family . This is one of my best friend's friends.....Their son, Turner, is fighting terminal cancer. He just turned 3 and is fighting for his life right now. Please lift up this family in prayer. I can't imagine going through what they are going through right now.
Until next time......

GO BULLDOGS!!

Hi Blog Friends!

On Saturday night we took the girls to see The Citadel vs. Presbyterian College....The Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina, is where Ryan went to college. It's a wonderful small school in Charleston, who have great military traditions that have carried on for years. For instance, their students are ALL required to attend the football games and sit together, in uniform. Every time The Citadel scores a touchdown cannons go off...and they are loud!

We took the girls to see the first home game. It was a late game, so we took our chances with being out late with them...but they did really well. They were so kind to let us stay the entire game!!

Afterwards, we were able to go on the field, walk around and take pictures.... fun stuff!

I love good quality time with my sweet husband and girls....I definitely cherish times like these!!!

Brooke and Daddy were on the hunt for the Mascot!

Cute pic of Daddy and his girls on the field...but it was after 10pm and Brooke was DONE with being Miss Nice Girl...

Brooke is watching all of the action on the field.

Brooke had the best seat in the house...

Homework WIth Shaving Cream

I used to teach 2nd grade....and every Thursday I would give my students shaving cream on theirs desks and call out their spelling words. They would write each word in the shaving cream, and wipe through it and write the next word. It was always a big hit with my students, and a great way to study!!

Now Faith is in the 1st grade and the Spelling tests have started.....so I thought she would enjoy practicing her words in shaving cream.....

To keep Brooke occupied while I worked with Faith, she "drew" pictures for us in her shaving cream while we practiced for Faith's test.

If you have never done this with your kids.... you should try it....Brooke obviously didn't have any spelling words to practice, but she still loved playing in the shaving cream!!!!
**It's easy to clean up, and leaves the room smelling fresh too!**

Duck, Duck, Goose!

We have a duck pond in the back of our neighborhood, and we love to take bread and feed them every now and then.

On Saturday, we headed down to the duck pond....and Boy, were the ducks happy to see us.

These ducks are so funny...there are at least 30 ducks in this pond, and they all flock to you when they see you coming. There are a few white ones who will take the bread out of your hand, and will chase you down if they see you are holding bread.

Hangin' Out In Nashville

Last weekend we traveled to Nashville, TN. Ryan had an Army conference there, so we all went along because my very best friend in the world lives there as well.

The first night we stayed at the Opryland Hotel because we got in at midnight and didn't want to bother Carolina (my BFF). Ryan's conference was at the same hotel, so we got up the next morning and got to do short tour of the hotel before Ryan headed to his conference, and I headed to Carolina's with the girls.

The hotel is gorgeous! I stayed there when I was a child, but didn't appreciate it's beauty until this trip. If you have never been, it's like a mini-resort. So many things to see and do....check out the INSIDE of the hotel...

Then we spent the rest of the weekend at Carolina's house. She has 2 kids, both close in age to mine...and they all have a great time together.

Saturday was Brooke's 3rd Birthday, and we started the day off by going to 2 soccer games for Carolina's kids. Brooke enjoyed playing with the soccer ball....the kid has some talent I wasn't aware of....

After a nice afternoon nap, we headed out for dinner and a Taylor Swift concert. Carolina's husband was able to get us a suite for the concert and we were 2 suites down from Faith Hill and Tim McGraw...wish I had taken a picture, but I grabbed the camera to take a pic and Ryan stopped me....I guess I looked like a crazed fan or part of the poporatzi (sp).

We had dinner with Carolina's family...her parents basically raised me and her brother was like my brother, so it always feels like I am hanging out with family when I with them! I just love them to pieces. Brooke wore a sweet dres I made with a cupcake on it, and the waiter brought out a great big cupcake and 3 huge candles while we all sang Happy Birthday to her! She was on Cloud 9!

Brooke is enjoying her cupckae!!!!

Carolina's brother and his wife just had a baby, and I got to hold and cuddle Baby Gabriella!! SO, after dinner we headed to the Taylor Swift concert.....and what a BLAST! My girls couldn't take their eyes of of her!! I thought, for sure, Brooke was going to lost interest after a few songs, but she never moved for over 2 hours!! After every song she would say, "Do it again!" And Faith sat in her seat the entire time, only getting up once to take a potty break!!!
Carolina is due with baby Sofie in a few weeks.....can't wait to see this sweet baby!!!

Carolina and me.... BFF since for 23 years!!!

Here we are right before the concert started.....

...and this is what the kids looked like the entire time.....

There's the birthday girl enjoying "Tayla Fiff"

And here is the Happy Birthday girl leaving the concert!!! It was midnight, but she was still hanging in there!!!!!

Can't wait to go back to Nashville.... or even move there!!!!!
