EASY CHICKEN POT PIE

You need:

3 chicken breasts (or a Rotisserie chicken)
pack of 2 pie crusts
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 can cream of potato soup
1 can of mixed veggies
small amount of water
Photobucket

This is SO easy to make...and quick prep!

*Cook chicken (I boil mine on the stove for about 30 min, or you can use a rotiss. chicken from the grocery's deli)
*Layer bottom pie crust into a round dish
* Pour in cream of potato soup onto crust
*Add the can of veggies
*Then add chicken on top
*Next add cream of chicken soup
*I also add about 1/8 cup (no more) of water just to make a little sauce (just pour it over mixture)
*Last, cover with 2nd pie crust.
*Bake at 350 for 40 minutes!
*Enjoy!

Blessed to Be Featured!

Every time I do a project, I wonder if I am the only one who thinks it looks good.....

Not being a professional, I second guess if the color
choices/design/arrangement of things I do is headed in the right direction.  Will anyone else like  what I have done?

So, when I see that I have been featured on a popular blog like REMODELAHOLIC , it totally makes my day in every way!!! It's one thing for ME to like it, but when someone else thinks enough of it to put it on their blog......well, I feel absolutely honored, excited and blessed!

So, thank you Remodelaholic for thinking enough of my amateur designing and decorating to tell others about it.

I'm blessed.

What I've Been Up To...Deployment Projects #11-22

Hello to my friends, family and followers.....

I took this past week to work on a few crafts....

With 4....(count them 1, 2, 3, 4).....birthday parties to attend this weekend (and 2 we missed last weekend) I had some monogramming to get done...

First, I took some time to make some pillows for my couch. I made these out of placemats I purchased from Target.  First I monogrammed them and sewed some ribbon trim around them. Then sewed them together and stuffed them....instant pillows for about $6 a piece!!!

Photobucket

Then I took some leftover canvas drop cloth, painted the letter "P" on one side, and created another pillow. I added a ruffle to this cutey-pie!! This was created for pennies since it was made with materials I had lying around!

Photobucket

I love giving monogrammed towels for birthday gifts. It's an alternative to toys and can be used all year long!
Here are some of the towels I made this week....

A friend of mine was invited to a party for a little girl who loves dinosaurs...so I created a girly dinosaur shirt for her!!

Photobucket

For other birthday gifts, I created these FUN buckets!!!! I saw this on another blog (can't remember which one).  I went to Lowe's and bought plain paint cans for about $4 a piece. I covered them with scrapbook paper and Mod Podged over it. I also bought some sticker letters to put the child's name on the bucket. Then I filled the bucket with goodies!!! These were a HIT at the party!!! The kids can use the buckets to store small toys in it!

So, that's what I did last week!!!!!

Looking for more fun stuff to do this week!!!

Deployment Project #10 : Window Treatment Transformation

What crazy person would take down custom made roman shades and replace them with Target curtains?!?!?

ME!!!!!!! ;-)

I am  so excited about my latest deployment project!

Little by little, I have been working on my living room, wall by wall.

My latest wall was my back wall, where I have 4 large windows.

When we moved in 5 years ago, I had these roman shades CUSTOM made for these windows. I believe, in all, I spent about $500 in materials and labor.  Why on earth would I take them down?!?!?

Because I was sick of looking at them, that's why.

I wanted a cleaner, warmer, cozier look.

I was ready for change.

Here is what they looked like before.

If you remember about 2 posts back, I stepped out of my comfort zone and painted my back doors CHOCOLATE BROWN!!! (squealing with excitement!)
(The chocolate paint was left over from another project, so it was FREE to paint my door!)
Photobucket

I bought a new rug ($45) and chocolate curtains at Target (the curtains were $8 a piece)....

New curtain rods ($30 each) and bamboo shades ($52 each) came from Lowe's...(L-O-V-E the bamboo shades)

My sweet friend, Kym, who happens to be an even BETTER handyman than "Tim the Tool Man" himself, helped me get my curtain rods and bamboo shades hung!!!
Photobucket

All a woman needs to rule the world is a power drill!!!!

Photobucket

Hanging the bamboo shades was actually easier than the curtain rods...but both didn't require the help of our husbands, so we get brownie points for that!!!! Woot!

Photobucket

Sooooo, here they are in all their glory!!!!! I L.O.V.E. them!!!!!!

Love.Love.Love the chocolate door and chocolate shades to match!!!! The bamboo shades added the perfect touch to this set of windows!!

What do you think?!?!?

Soccer Season starts....

Soccer season has started!

Miss B has been SO excited!! All she has talked about is soccer, soccer, soccer.

Practices started last week, and boy was she excited!

Her practices went great! She had a blast....

And was looking so forward to her first game.

She took the field, and put on her game face....

Photobucket

Then, all of a sudden......

Photobucket

everyone raced for the ball, and B stood there....

Then, this.....

Photobucket

The noise of the crowd scared her....so she clammed up....and spent 3/4 of the game on the bench.....

Until I told her they gave out treats after the game for everyone who played.....

All of a sudden, she did this.....

Photobucket

...and this....

Photobucket

By the end of the game, she looked like this....

Photobucket

....and she says she can't wait to go back and play again!!!

We don't call her our Little Diva for nothing!!!!

Looking forward to next week's game....

I think.

But a few days later....I was on the operating table meeting my second sweet little girl for the first time....

Miss B was born on September 12th...weighing in at 7 pounds 13 ounces....

Photobucket

She's brought us lots of laughs, lots of sleepless nights, lots of crying, and lots of memories in her 4 short years....handful is an understatement, but we wouldn't trade her for all the money in the world!

(7mo old)

Happy 1st Birthday....
