I think it looks great like that. You might add a small decorative iron piece/candle holder or some smaller pics...maybe of the girls at the same ages as the pictures of you two...
but I am a "less is more" kinda gal...I hate putting a hole in the wall. LOL
hmmm...you have such an open floor plan and so many other great things hanging on your walls...i don't think i would add anything else on the wall. i think i would move the chair over just enough to fit a small table (round maybe?) in between the chair and the armoir. then put a few different objects of varying heights on the table. maybe a stack of books with a plant or lamp on top, a candle stick, and some cute coasters? whatever you have that you love! if you don't want to get a table...maybe just a tall tree or plant sitting on the floor in the same spot? just make sure the tree/plant is significantly taller than the chair. hope that gives you some inspiration!
I would say to put a small shelf and lean a picture on it with a candlestick on it or something like that. Maybe instead of a picture use a plaque with a "Homey" saying on it.
paige, i would center the armoire on that wall and do a pair of pictures on each side one above the other, move the chair in front of the armoire at the end of the sofa if its possible... or do a pair of pictures on one side or reframe the picture with a larger frame or replace that picture with something of a larger scale...since i have not seen the whole room its hard to guess...but here are some ideas...stuart
Hey! I agree with the person who said- possibly center the armoire on that wall. If that is not possible because of the chair- I would center the picture- move it over a little and maybe add a pair of plates- 2 on each side- one above the other on each side of the picture.
SO here is my opinion. The photo you have hanging there is the letter from 3rd grade correct? I think you should have a nice wall saying over it either painted or a wood piece. This might be a easy solution. I am sure you will figure it out.
I notice that you have alot of "square" items...that picture, the armoire, the picture above the mantle, the pictures ON the mantle...Maybe if you move that picture entirely and go a different direction with a large iron piece of a different shape OR a collage of pictures that are different sizes (some 5x7 and 8x10) but make one element the same. For example, they are all black and white or they all have the same color frame. That way you will take up more of the wall but everything won't be such straight edges.
