a pajama party

Because of the cold winter weather, it's hard to come up with something to do for Faith's party each year. This year we decided to do the party at home (we've always done it somewhere else) and keep it to just a few friends.
Faith thought the idea of a pajama party would be fun...everyone wore their jammies and we cooked pancakes, bacon and eggs for dinner. Then at the end of the party, I popped some popcorn and put in a movie for the kids....definitely a successful birthday party!!!! I even put on my p.j.'s and celebrated too!!!
Here are a few of the decorations I used....

This is a tiered cupcake tower I made. I got the idea from Imperfectly Beautiful . The cupcakes aren't decorated in the picture because that was an activity the kids did once they arrived. They picked out a cupcake to decorate, and they all did a great job making their cupcakes look delicious!

These are framed pictures of Faith's birthdays through the years...starting with a pregnant picture of me, a picture of her when she was 2 days old, and the rest were taken at each birthday....it was fun to see how she has changed over the last 7 years!

The table with the pink table cloth on it was our nail station (that table doesn't normally sit in the middle of my living room... :0)

I made this cute little banner to hang up....the paper came from Michael's.... I hand cut the triangles, and printed out the letter on my computer, and hot glued them all to a long pink ribbon.

This was in the center of one of the tables....the kids enjoyed chewing bubble gum and eating Twizzlers (on the other table) all night...

Once the girls got here we had pancakes, bacon and eggs for dinner....what else would you expect at a pajama party?!?

Then they decorated pillowcases with fabric markers....and later took them home as their "goody"...

They decorated cupcakes that they put in a Chinese take out container to take home...

They painted nails....

We sang "Happy Birthday!".....no laughing at my p.j.s :)

My sweet birthday girl made her wish...

...and blew out her candles.....

She opened up her gifts....

Her favorite gift was her American Girl doll she got that looks just like her...or is supposed to....(and I am thanking the good Lord she likes it...have you seen how much those dolls cost?!? Holy cow!)

We played games...and Brooke even got in on the action...

...and we finished the night off with popcorn and a movie! We had a great time!! Seeing how happy my girl was, just thrilled me!!

I DO admit.. it was fun, but I am glad I don't have to plan another birthday party until the end of the year... WHEW! I was wiped out!
