Saying Good-Bye to Papa

We just got the news tonight, that Ryan's grandfather has passed away. I knew Papa Owens longer than I knew my own grandfathers (who both passed away by the time I was 10), so I am deeply upset of Papa's passing. He was a gentle man who loved the Lord with all his heart. He was always positive and had words of encouragement to say to others. I honestly don't believe I ever heard a negative word come out of his mouth. He always let me know he was praying for our family, and would constantly remind me what a wonderful mother I was and what wonderful children Ryan and I have. I just can't say enough nice things about Ryan's Papa. The kindest man with the most gentle soul. Papa is now in heaven. I know he's up there with my mom now, and she's welcoming him Home with a big smile on her face...

We love you Papa!

4th Folder....4th Picture

My friend Ashley (her blog is to the right as "The Eiler Family") posted a blog where she was tagged to post a picture of the 4th folder, 4th picture on her computer and blog about it. What you see if my 4th, and 4th.

This picture if of my sweet Brooke when she was about 6 months old. We were waiting in line to see the Easter Bunny and I snapped this while we were in line. There's not much to tell about this picture other than I think she's probably the MOST beautiful baby I have ever laid my eyes on. Everyone used to comment on her head full of black hair (which is now almost blond) and her BIG blue eyes (that are now hazel in color). Strangers would stop me out in public to tell me how gorgeous she was. Brooke was an absolutely beautiful baby! (and of course, she's still beautiful...) ...and looking at how tiny and sweet she is in this pic gives me baby fever..... hmmmmmmmmm....

HAPPY 6th BIRTHDAY FAITH!

On January 15, 2003 our lives changed forever! Faith Alexandrea came into the world via c-section at 2:50PM weighing 9lbs. 5 oz and 22 inches long. (I am still amazed that I gave birth to such a big baby!) Life has never been the same sense.

Thinking back, I think about the day I found out I was pregnant with Faith, and how I cried uncontrollably because of all the unknowns that come with being a mother.

Then I think back to my pregnancy, when I would lay in bed at night, with Ryan's hand on my belly, feeling Baby Faith kick and turn. It was the neatest, weirdest, most wonderful feeling all at the same time! (and the fact that I gained 70 lbs was also amazing...and difficult)

I think back to being in the delivery room, and hearing her cry for the first time. And how I have not been able to put myself first since the arrival of Faith (and of course, later, Brooke).

Life definitely changes when you have a baby. It's funny how you can hold that baby in your arms for the first time, and at that moment realize that you are holding your entire life in your hands...and that you would do anything and everything to protect this baby you have just brought into the world.

Of course, I love my husband beyond measure and would be nothing without him....but having Faith has been such a wonderful time. Yes, there have been some tough times...kids aren't supposed to be 100% easy all of the time. Faith is such a wonderful little girl.

Faith is super smart, reading beyond her level before school even started...she's thoughtful, she's caring, she's a cuddle bunny, she's so well behaved, she's laid back, easy going and eager to please. She has a sweet, kind soul and such a giving, happy and pleasant disposition. I always brag on her to other people because I feel like I have had it so easy with her. She was a great baby....easy as could be....and she still is easy, pleasant and fun to be around! I love to laugh with Faith and watch her smile and laugh! What a wonderful gift God has given me! I wouldn't trade her for all the treasures in the world!

So, Happy 6th Birthday, my sweet Faith!!!! We love you beyond measure!!!!

Happy Birthday to 2 Sweet People...

Today is Janurary 7th, and is the birthday of 2 of my favotire girls (other than my own daughters, of course).

Today is my best friend, Carolina's birthday....so HAPPY BIRTHDAY CARO! We have been best friends since we were 10 years old...so this is the 23rd consecutive time I have wished her a Happy Birthday! Love you girl! I don't think I could be closer to a sister than I am to Carolina. We live 8 hours apart, and only get together once or twice a year, but we always pick up right where we left off! Don't you just love friends like that??

And Happy Birthday to my Mom!!! Momma would have been 64 today....I know she is having a great birthday up in heaven, but I am still thinking about her here on Earth...wishing she was here so I could bring her flowers and take her out to dinner....and have my precious girls sing her "Happy Birthday". She would have loved that! Miss you Momma, love you! Hope you're having a great birthday today! Mom and Faith, July 2003

Talent Show With The Neighbors...

I just love my neighbors.....

We live on a cul-de-sac with several other families who have children about the same as mine. They all get along so well, and love playing together. And I love the parents....we all get along and I enjoy getting to spend time with them as well. We are very fortunate to have found neighbors like the ones we have. I know my girls are making memories with these kids that will last a lifetime!

Yesterday, all the kids decided they would host a talent show. They spent all day decorating....putting up lights, decorations, etc....and rehearsing for their big talent show....even handing out invitations with real tickets to get into the show.

So, last night after dinner, we went down to my friend, Donna's house....Donna so graciously and very patiently, let the kids decorate her house in lights, etc. What a brave woman!

The kids put on a one-of-a-kind talent show......and let me tell me tell you, it was full of laughs. The kids and the parents enjoyed it. We all had our cameras and cam-corders out as if we were watching a real concert!

God has blessed me with these great neighbors/friends!!! We soooo love all of them...

Brooke is waiting on the festivities to begin....don't you love the legs crossed???

My neighbor Kerry enjoying the show....and Brooke with Capri raising the roof during the encore! :)

Faith singing a song...that she didn't know all teh words too...ha....and smiling after everyone was clapping for her...

Most of the kids in the talent show....they had a blast!
