Losing Teeth The Hard Way...

So this happened a week ago, but I am just getting around to posting it....

Our church had a Parent's Night Out last week, where you drop the kids off from 6-9 and the parents get to go enjoy a few hours out. I waited ALL week long for Friday night! I cherish my alone time with Ryan...it's very few and far between these days, with 2 kids and his crazy work schedule.

So, we dropped off the girls and headed to a nice restaurant...just the two of us....with dessert planned at Starbucks afterwards....

Halfway through our meal, Ryan's cell phone rings. I can tell by the conversation, it's not a pleasant phone call. He looks up at me and says, "Faith just got her front teeth knocked out."

Our hot date turned cold....

Faith was jumping in a jump castle at church, and was pushed into the netting. Her teeth got hung in the net and her top front teeth were ripped out....are you cringing yet?!?!?

I think I was more upset than she was... the mere thought of my baby hanging from the net of a jump castle by her teeth just didn't sit well with me...and more importantly, it's always been known since before we had kids that they would be doomed from the moment of conception in the tooth category. Ryan and I both had the world's worst teeth growing up...and we both had braces. So, we said from the day we got married that we felt sorry for our children one day....

So, dollars signs flashed in front of my eyes, and the sight of my baby with no front baby teeth nearly crushed me....

A week later, I must admit, Faith looks pretty stinkin' cute with no teeth! She talks a little funny now, but she has said several times she thinks she looks "cool" with no front teeth! I have a dentist appt for xrays next week to see what her future holds...maybe her teeth will grow out of her ears...or we may get lucky and they will come in where they are supposed to....if we're lucky...

SO, here's my sweet Faith's first picture with no front teeth. This was taken the next morning, after we all calmed down..haha..
