Custom Diaper Bag & Burp Cloth

I LOOOOOOVE sewing and monogramming!

My friend, Michelle, is having a baby boy and I made her this cute diaper bag and matching burp cloth. She's doing her nursery in a water/surf theme, so I thought this matched great!!

My $4 Instant Bedskirt....

I'm really excited about this one.....

The bed in our master bedroom sits higher off the

ground than a normal bed, and has wooden slats down the side that make it impossible to put a bedskirt on....so I have just lived without one...

until yesterday...

I came across another girl's blog with the same dilema....I followed her advice and here is my new bedskirt....

What 'cha think?!? Would you EVER guess this is a $4 sheet from Wal Mart?!?

Well, it is. I bought a $4 twin flat sheet, cut it in half, and stuffed the raw edges in between the matress and box springs.....TA DA!!!!

Now I have the perfect bedskirt, at the perfect length, at the perfect price.....and I'm PERFECTLY happy with it!!!!

The Hurricane Chamber....

I thought this was too funny not to post....

When we were in Memphis last week, we met at the mall with some friends....the mall has a carousel and play area, etc for the kids...

...and a Hurricane Chamber!!!!

This "chamber" (for lack of a better term) is a booth you walk in, close the door, and turn it on. The winds in it get up to 80 m.p.h.

Faith and her friend, Brinley hopped right in....and here is what they looked like in it....

Brooke and Brinley's sister, Braelyn, weren't too sure about this Hurricane booth/chamber so they gladly watched from outside....

BUT....

Braelyn decided she wanted to get in afterall...and while she was a little hesitant, Brooke finally decided to get in too.....

**Now, pay attention to Brooke's face....**

Here they all are waiting for it to start...holding their hair down....Brooke is not quite sure what to think..

The winds inside start.....everyone is excited....and Brooke tries to be happy....

But then the winds get faster....and Brooke starts rethinking her decision to get in this thing...

She holds it in as long as she can....and decides she can't take anymore....

At the end of the 20-30 second "hurricane", Brooke was ready to get out....can you tell???

No worries, though.... she was happy again once she was out of there..

A Trip Back Home...

The family and I traveled to Memphis to see my dad and step mom over the holidays. We were able to stay almost a week....I enjoyed the time with my dad and step mom, and loved having Ryan off work for an entire week!!

My girls call my dad "Adia"(....and you just said,"Whaaatt?") When Faith first started talking we tried to get her to say, "Grandaddy"...and it came out "Aaaaa-deee-ahhh"....and it stuck...so he's known as Adia around here....

My dad is an artist....I think his paintings are far better than any Van Gogh or Picasso or Michaelangelo I have ever seen....and he has tons of paints, chalks, pencils, etc. in his art studio. Every night we were there, he did art with the girls...my oldest especially loves to draw so she was in heaven....

Of course, Brooke does everything her own way....she paints with her mouth...crazy kid...

It was 28 degrees one night...and what better way to enjoy it, than by going to Baskin Robbins....I think the BR employees must have thought we were crazy....

I also got the chance to meet up with some sweet friends from high school...it's been 2 years since I have seen them, but I always have fun when I am with them...we met at the mall, had lunch and let the kids play in the play area so we could have a conversation....there were 14 kids between us all, and they all played great together!

On the way back from Memphis, we stopped in Birmingham for the night. Ryan went to the South Carolina/ UConn football game and I spent the day with some friends from college....actually my college room mate and another mutual friend of ours. I had a good time catching up with them....and it was fun to get our kids together to play!!

...and these are our little ones!!!! We've come a long way since those days in the dorm at college!

My 2010 is off to a great start so far.....except for the fact that my little one is now sick with the stomach bug.....

The Price Family: Year In Review

I had fun re-doing my laundry room....

Christmas at our house was fun, and busy as usual...

I can't leave out that Brooke finally potty trained...it only took 9 months...

Ryan and I celebrated our 10th anniversary this year...and we remember where it started here...

Remember Dirty Dancing? Ryan and I stayed in the hotel where part of the movie was filmed...The Grove Park Inn in Asheville, NC!

because, I don't teach nor allow my kids to write/say/do things like this....

This was a "nice" message my (almost) 7 year old wrote to her 3 year old little sister (who, thank goodness can't read).....

Surprisingly enough, my daughter rarely gets in trouble at school (except for the time she was acting like Sponge Bob in line, and the time she was marching instead of walking in line to lunch)....

I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry at this one...I guess if it's the worse thing she ever does, then I am one lucky mommy....

......and for the record...the word "butt" is not allowed in our house...so Faith was being a big rebel writing this one.....

I hope you had a great Christmas! I know we did.....nothing makes me happier than seeing my children happy....and Christmas is definitely a time when you can see them at their happiest! Luckily, BOTH girls got what they wanted...both were happy and excited with what Santa brought.....

Sadly, our Elf on the Shelf has returned back to the North Pole...we really did enjoy having cute little "Mike" at our house...but before he left he surprised the girls with a few last messages...here are a few last pics of Mike...

Just in 2 shorts years my girls have changed sooo much....sniff sniff....

Christmas was spent with lots of family time....we spent our 2nd year at home...and LOVED it. I want my girls to have memories of having Christmas at home. Last year was the first year we spent the holiday at home, and had so much fun. This year was just as much fun!!! The girls are really into Santa this year....Faith left him cookies and wrote him a note...and cleared out a space in front of the fireplace for Santa so he wouldn't trip over anything....

This is my husband's family...mom, dad, 3 children with their spouses and children....LOVE them all! I am soooo extremely lucky to have wonderful inlaws...they are all so much fun to hang around!!!! I'm so blessed!!!



So, now we are in Memphis visiting my dad and step mom and having a great time so far. It's my fist time home in 2 years....
