The Tooth Fairy...

The Tooth Fairy is now getting ready to take up residence at our home.....Faith lost her very first tooth last night (and has a second loose tooth getting looser by the minute)!!!!! Talk about excited! I was actually at Bunko last night when Faith and her daddy called to tell me her tooth FINALLY fell out! We have been eagerly awaiting this day for quite some time now...I can remember Faith asking me when she was 2 or 3 when she was going to lose a tooth! Well, the day is finally here, and Faith couldn't be happier! The Tooth Fairy did come last night (thank goodness she went by the bank yesterday to withdraw the funds), and left Faith $5. I think the Tooth Fairy gives a little more than she should, after all, it IS the VERY FIRST lost tooth, ya know?!?! Faith also got a letter from the TF telling her Congratulations on her very first lost tooth, and what a special girl she is! Faith couldn't wait to get to school today to show her teacher! On the other side, however, this is a bitter sweet moment for the Tooth Fairy....it seems as just yesterday those sweet little baby teeth were coming in!!! Faith start big girl school last week, and now has lost a tooth this week...this may be just too much for the Old Tooth Fairy to handle! :)

Missed The Bus....

So, on the second day of school, I decided to let Faith ride the bus. This is something I have thought about since I was a teacher....I protested any of my children riding the bus. However, Faith's school starts at 7:25am, which means I have to leave my house at 6:45am to take her school...which means waking up Brooke, and throwing her entire day off. So, I decided that, for right now, the bus was the best way to go. Faith was so excited to ride the bus and hopped on it like a pro this morning! Here is a picture of her loading up!

All was fine until after school....I saw the neighbor's kids getting off the bus...but NO FAITH!!! I asked where she was and they told me she wasn't on there! ..insert panic mode here....... I immediately called the school, who called the teacher, who called me....turns out the teacher put her on the wrong bus, but thankfully it was the bus who's route is through the back of our neighborhood. After waiting 45 long minutes, the bus delivered my baby to my door. Needless to say Faith was absolutely terrified and crying. I put her to bed last night and she said, "Mommy I don't ever want to ride that bus again!" ....just great....not a good way to get the school year started!! So, we shall she what happens on Monday morning when it's time to catch the bus!!!

My BABY Started Kindergarten!!

Well, the day I have been dreading all summer is here. Faith started kindergarten this morning at 7:25am. Surprisingly, there were no tears...mainly because I am in a state of shock! My BABY, who I feel like I just left the maternity ward with, just started kindergarten! Faith is such an extrovert and independent little girl, and I am so proud of her for that! She walked in her classroom so sure of herself and ready to start her day. I wanted to take pictures of her, and she acted as if she didn't really have time for it, but smiled for my camera just to be polite.

I have heard people talk about how I should enjoy the preschool years because they fly by so fast....and it all sounded like "blah blah blah blah" until now. On my way home from dropping off Faith this morning, I thought about the day I found out I was pregnant with her and how scared I was knowing I was going to be someone's mother. yikes! Then I thought about the day I had her...all 9.5 pounds of her! And I thought about being up with her during all of those middle of the night feedings, and when she took her first steps, and when she went to the zoo for the first time, and how she loves to suck her thumb and carry around her security blanket. All of those memories and more flashed before me as I drove home this morning.

I am so proud of my little girl. She has grown up so much in her 5 and 1/2 years! She's so independent and extroverted, and has a huge heart that is giving and gentle. Here are some pictures of Faith from the beginning to now I wanted to share!

Museums, Picnics and Outdoor Fun...

I can't believe summer is almost over! It has flown by so fast! I am trying to make Faith's last full week a fun one, since she will officially be a full time student starting Thursday!!! (I'll save those tears for another post). Today we went to the Children's Museum in downtown Charleston. Too bad we can't go there everyday...my girls love it there!!! Then we came home and played outside for over 3 hours! My friend, Kym, brought over some take-out Japanese, and we spread some towels out in the drive way and had a picnic!! Faith loves picnics...and I enjoyed this one too! The kids finished dinner and rode in the Barbie Jeep (see previous post), drew with sidewalk chalk, blew bubbles and rode bikes! Brooke had her "first date" with our neighbor, Grady! haahaa She and Grady enjoyed riding in the Barbie Jeep together...so we joked they were on their first date! ha Here are some pictures from our day!

My Fall Line 2008

Most of you know...and for those who didn't, now you do....that I make custom clothing for children. I am starting my local trunk shows this weekend and they will run through the end of September. Since I am the sole seamstress(my friend, Michelle makes the boy's side) I can only do shows locally, and they are limited. But I do take custom orders if you know someone who is interested. Just let me know. My email is paigeprice@sc.rr.com . I had some pictures done this past weekend of some of my sets, but this isn't even half of what I have. The weather was a warm 95 degrees that day and the kids were sweaty and hot...so we only got through a few outfits before we had to stop. We plan to finish up sometime this week. Until then, here a few shots of my sets!

The Best Things in Life Are Free

One of Ryan's co-workers came to work the other day an asked him if he wanted a free battery charged Barbie Jeep. Well, these are not cheap, so we gladly took it. My girls could spend hours outside riding this Barbie Jeep. It's perfect since Faith can drive it and Brooke can ride right beside her! Here are a few pictures of the girls riding around in their stylin' Barbie Jeep!!

WAR EAGLE, HEY!

On the way home from vacation last week, we stopped in Auburn...the other best place on earth....and drove around the campus to see what had changed in the last year we had been there. We also made one quick stop in front of Samford Hall to take a few pics of the girls in front of it. I have so many wonderful memories of Auburn University, and they date back to when I was a little girl and my daddy used to take me to football games. I remember thinking how I wanted to go to Auburn one day when I was all grown up. My 4 years at AU as a college student were some of the best years of my life!!! I made some lifelong friends there, and made memories that I will always carry with me.

While we were taking pictures of the girls in front of Samford, I thought about how I will one day show this picture to Faith as she starts her time at Auburn (oh yes, she WILL go to AU...she has no other choice :).

Cute Swimming Video!

My girls are quite the fish!!! Here is a short video of them swimming at the pool in Destin!!!

Vacation Time In Destin

So, I have some blogging-catching-up to do! We just returned from a week in Destin, FL (which is where Ryan and I lived for 7 yrs before moving to Charleston...Lord what were we thinking moving away from there?!?!?)

We went with Carolina (see previous post) and 2 other mutual family friends....and BOY did we have fun?!? This year we brought along two teenage babysitters, so the adults were able to go out after the kids went to bed!!! I almost forgot what the party scene looked like, but I had a great time with my friends and husband!!!!!!

I think I took well over 200 pics, so email me if you want to see more pics! Here a few from the week!!! Can't wait til Destin Trip 2009!!!

My BFF!!

For those of you who know me quite well know that my very best friend in the world in Carolina. We met the first day 5th grade, waaaayyy back in 1986. My life changed the day I met her....we've been best friends now for over 22 years!!! Carolina's dad was in the Air Force, so they only lived in our town for 3 short years, but that hasn't stopped us from keeping in touch since she moved away. Her parents were my "other" mom and dad, and took me under their wing and help raise me, since my parents were going through a divorce and life was a little unstable at my house.

Over the years, Carolina and I have managed to see each other once or twicw a year, and every time we get together we pick right up where we left off. We never went to the same high school, the same college, lived in the same town after she moved, or had the same set of friends.....but somehow or other we are as close today as we were back when we were 12.

I just finished spending the week with Carolina and her family in Destin, FL. We met up in Destin and rented a house with 2 other families that we are all now friends with, and had the best week! I live for my time with Carolina, and the other families that we vacation with. We all have kids about the same age, so the kids have a blast and the adults have an awesome time too!

A bible verse comes to mind when I think about my best friend...Proverbs 18:24 says ," A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother." I used to wonder why God never gave me a sister, but now I realize that I couldn't love a sister more than I do Carolina! When I think about the times I have laughed the hardest, it's been with her! Thank you Lord, for all of my amazing friends you have given me!!!
